Australian Shepherds: About Us
I acquired my first Australian Shepherd in 1987 which we used on the family ranch in far west Texas.Shalako Australian Shepherds has produced dogs with American, Canadian, German, and Luxemborg conformation championships, as well as Agility Championships in AKC, ASCA and NADAC agility, and obedience titles and stock titles in both AKC and ASCA. We have bred a Best of Breed (Altered) ASCA National Specialty Breed winner, multiple Premier winners and have handled dogs to top rankings in ASCA and AKC as an owner/handler. I am a member of the Australian Shepherd Club of America, support the United States Australian Shepherd Association, and have served as an officer in several ASCA affliate breed clubs at the state level. I have served as a Board member for the parent club, the Australian Shepherd Club of America, and was an active member of the ASCA Conformation, MVA, Breed Standard and Education Committees. Among my many educational projects, I have written and illustrated the booklet Australian Shepherd: Structure and Movement Illustrated and the Online Australian Shepherd Illustrated Breed Standard. I am currently licensed as a Senior levelbreeder judge in ASCA and I am pursuing my license in AKC for Australian Shepherds. Aside from my dog activities I am also a photographer and artist. |
